The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Gynecologic Oncology Division of the Women's Institute’s goal is to transform care delivery in our region and drive excellence in clinical outcomes with an aim towards minimizing the significant burden of gynecological cancers. The program has developed robust research funding and has been able to partner with grateful patients to support its mission.

Our growing national reputation is one of the reasons that the AHN Gynecologic Oncology Division recently became the first health care organization in the U.S. to begin a phase 3 clinical trial for a promising ovarian cancer therapy. AHN is just one of 18 sites in the world currently offering this clinical trial to patients, and the only site in Pennsylvania. The trial has already drawn patients from Minnesota, Michigan and Washington, D.C.
