Dr. Fillor Caushaj

International Observational Fellowship

Dr. Fillor (Phil) Caushaj was an internationally recognized Professor of Surgery and Colorectal Surgeon dedicated to training surgical residents from around the world. He was a strong advocate and recruiter of foreign trained medical students, providing them the opportunity to come to America and train under his tutelage. His dedication in this endeavor has been recognized by Allegheny Health Network (AHN) with the Dr. Caushaj International Observational Fellowship. The fellowship was established by one of his former foreign surgical residents, Ariel Aballay, MD, head of the AHN West Penn Burn Unit. This observational fellowship is supported by the International Society of University Colorectal Surgeons, where Dr. Caushaj was past president.
